This is a mature conifer. Relatively speaking its roots will not be as large as those of a comparable sized deciduous tree.
However, being so close to the house there is no doubt there will be a risk of root and storm damage.
A tree surgeon should be employed to safely reduce it in size. The real lesson to learn though is not to plant any tree or shrub so close to a building as it can damage the building and it’s services.
If it is already there make sure you pollard it regularly so it does not become over-large for its position in relation to the house.
