It’s worth checking your loft every now and then, especially if you live in a rural area. Mice and other vermin can get into your loft, climbing up down pipes and in through cracks or gaps in your eaves fascias and soffits.
They then have great fun nibbling away at pipe insulation and electrical cables. The photo shows water pipe insulation well on the way to being no more!
Little or no insulation could lead to a frozen pipe. Worse still, a nibbled electrical cable may cause a power cut and/or a fire.
You may not fancy the idea but if you experience such a problem seriously think about laying a trap or some rodent bait.
