A modern house on a sloping site.
The garden gravel and timber deck are high on the back wall, bridging the damp proof course. Brickwork is already becoming discoloured.
Luckily there is no dampness visible inside yet. The gravel needs lowering to 150 mm below the top of the damp proof course and the deck should be cut away so it does not immediately abut the wall.
Ensure you never cover up your damp proof course or dampness problems will ensue!
