A fairly big wasps nest tucked away in the eaves area.
Discovered in late September during a period of warm weather. It’s unclear whether the nest is active, but to be on the safe side call in a pest control contractor and have it safely destroyed.
Interestingly, in all three roof spaces there was no sign of thermal insulation. Fibreglass roll to a 300mm depth is recommended to reduce heat loss.
The white marks on the sarking felt which lines the underside of the roof slates suggest a fairly small problem with condensation and that improved ventilation will be beneficial.
