This downpipe has clearly been leaking for some time! The wall is wet enough to support luxuriant plant life.
Not only will the wall be damaged ouside but internally the plaster and decorations are probably spoiled.
Dampness on this scale can also result in an outbreak of Dry Rot. Now, that would be expensive to repair.
